Sorry but we DO NOT under any circumstances ship rabbits!!!
General Information on Shipping Rabbits:
Shipping is stressful for them, and we are not comfortable doing this to my rabbits. They are all members of our family.....we wouldn't ship my kids in a carrier therefore we will not our "other kids". Sorry to sound harsh, but this is how we feel.
We are putting the following information up just for your general information about shipping.
Shipping is expensive and time-consuming. Shipping should only be considered for multiple purchases of valuable rabbits. For commonly-available breeding stock, it may be better for you to find a breeder closer to you.
An alternative to shipping is finding a breeder within driving distance of your home or who is willing to transport a rabbit for you, either for free, a reciprocal favor, or for a small fee. Or, join the Yahoo! group Rabbit Railway to post your need for rabbit transportation.
In order to ship rabbits, they must be taken to the vet and obtain a health certificate. Then airline arrangements need to be made. Finally,a round-trip to the airport which in our case would be about 3-4 hours depending on traffic.
Airfare:
You must pay the airfare. If you want to get an idea of the airline costs, contact your airline for information on shipping costs from a breeders location to your local airport. Be sure to indicate lives animals are to be shipped unescorted. Taxes will also be added to your base cost.
Carrier, Water Bottles, Dishes:
You must provide the breeder with airline acceptable carriers and water bottles and feed dishes for each rabbit. It may be easiest to purchase these items from vendors such as KW Cages or Damars and have them shipped to the breeder, once you have agreed on the shipment. The carrier(s) and other supplies will most likely exceed $50.
Vet Certificates:
You pay for vet certificates, which rabbits MUST have in order to be shipped.
